Selecting the Active color
The Active color is used to fill the area
on the drawing that you touch with your mouse cursor.
Examining the above graphic you can see that the Active color is indicated by the rectangular area in the top left
portion of the color swatch area. The Active color is ALSO indicated by the circular swatch in the color swatch
area. Use your mouse to select the desired color swatch. When you click on a
color swatch it's shape will change from the shape of square to the shape of a circle to indicate that is now the Active color.
Using the Active color
Once you have decided on your paint color simply touch an area on the image. All pixels within this area will
changed to match the color of the Active color.
Customizing the Active color
If you can't find a color swatch that matches the color you are looking for you can customize the Active color
using the customize buttons as shown here.
The rectangular box indicates the Active color. 'R' is short for Red, 'G' is short for Green, and 'B' is short for Blue. RGB values range from 0 to 255. In this example the Red value is 0, the Green value is 175, and the Blue value is also 0. By using the '+' and '-' buttons you can modify the values of the Red, Green, and Blue components of the color. You can not modify a color component beyond 0 or 255. In this case the '+' or '-' button will become gray and the button will become inoperable to prevent values from exceeding the range 0 to 255.
If Red,Green, and Blue ALL equal 0 you have the color black. If Red, Green, and Blue ALL equal 255 you have the color white.
Reseting your coloring
If you would like to clear all colors and return the image to it's original black and white form press the "Reset Drawing" button. All color info in the
drawing will be discarded. If you like your coloring print it BEFORE pressing this button!
Printing your coloring
To prepare your coloring for printing press the Print button. This will result in a new browser window opening that contains ONLY the coloring.
You can then use the [File][Print] feature of your browser to print the coloring.
Emailing your coloring to a friend with an optional message
When you press the "email to friend!" button the following window will open
If you choose "Cancel" you will NOT lose anything. The window will simply close.
By entering your name in the first text box it will appear in the subject line of the email message that your friend will receive.
Enter the email address of your friend(s) in the second text box. This is where your greeting will be sent. You can send the same coloring to multiple people by entering multiple email addresses separating each address with a comma character (',').
Enter your message to your friend(s) in the third text box. This will appear along with your coloring when your friend goes to view your coloring.
NOTE! You can sprinkle HTML codes within your message and this will affect the look of your message.
Here is an example where John Doe is sending a coloring to two friends. One friend is at the email address JaneDoe@company.com and the other friend is at mike@company.com. Notice the comma separating the two addresses. Also notice in the message window that John Doe has sprinkled HTML "<p>" tags within his message. Each "<p>" will result in a blank line being inserted at that point in the message.
After you have pressed "Send" your coloring will be delivered to the specified email addresses. After this a new browser window will open to show you what your completed greeting looks like.
